The American Society for Testing and Materials specification ASTM A53 is the standard for black and hot-dipped, zinc-coated, welded and seamless steel pipes. This pipe is intended for mechanical and pressure applications and is also acceptable for ordinary use in steam, water, air and gas lines. It is suitable for welding and bending.
